An article once described us as “the organising pros who let you keep more stuff.” It made us laugh, but it also rang true. You need to treat your things and your space with equal respect. It just means you need to be thoughtful about what you do own. But to be organised does not mean you must inherently own fewer things. Minimalism is a design style and a lifestyle choice. You might define minimalism as living with less, while organisation is an efficient and orderly arrangement of things or tasks. ![]() Organisation is often conflated with minimalism, when in fact, they are two very different things. Take photographs of the storage boxes in situ on your phone e.g. Label everything properly - Christmas decorations, baby memorabilia, summer clothes. Whether it's a cupboard, drawer or box - empty out the contents and lay them out so you can see what to put back, store or let go.Īnd to make it all much easier to return to… Start with part of a room, even a cupboard or a drawer! Once done, remove items you no longer need then recycle them or give them to charity etc… don't put them in the garage! 5.
